5 ways to radiate positivity daily

1. Perfect your morning routine.

When do you feel better; when you’ve woken up 20 minutes before you need to leave the house, done your make-up on the tube and arrived at the office starving with minutes to spare.

Or when you’ve woken up an hour early, contoured your face at home and stopped for breakfast at your favourite cafe, before swanning into work half an hour before you need to be there?

Perfect your morning routine and it will become habit. You’ll be able to make time to do things you love before it even gets to 9 o’clock, when you’ll be ready for the flurry of emails/customers/meetings.

Doing things like reading, stopping to eat a proper breakfast and allowing extra time for travel delays will have you radiating positivity for at least the first hour of the working day.

2. Refuse to rant.

I know it’s tempting to complain about the train being delayed/man sneezing on the tube/co-worker who always makes you look bad.

But by moaning and complaining all the time you’re just taking that one bad thing that happened and dragging out it’s effect – imagine someone handed you a rotten egg, would you take that rotten egg home and show it to your family or carry it to dinner in your handbag and bring it out for your friends to see?

You’d probably throw it away immediately, wouldn’t you?

There’s nothing wrong with airing out grievances with people that love you, or seeking advice when you’re not sure how to deal with a negative situation, but don’t be that person who always has a rotten egg in her handbag that’s getting more and more pungent the more it’s kept and not disposed of.

3. Read and repeat mantras.

I know this is ridiculously cheesy and I don’t know anyone that actually wakes up and repeats; “I am powerful” in the mirror, but don’t underestimate the power of speaking things into existence.

Here are some things you can say when the going gets tough:

  • “This already belongs to me, I am in process”
  • “Work until you don’t have to introduce yourself”
  • “It’s not selfish to enjoy life. What’s selfish is to insist on being negative despite all the positive possibilities available to you.”

4. Surround yourself with things you love.

That goes for people, clothes, accessories, furniture, food, drinks and even stationary.

These things may seem insignificant but looking at things you hate every day is draining. Replace those bit and bobs with things you really love, and see how the atmosphere changes.

5. Plan and prepare for success.

The only way to master time is to get ahead of it.

That means planning your week on a Sunday night; from what you’ll do to what you’ll wear, packing your bag the night before and deciding what you’re going to eat for dinner before the time comes.

Google calendar keeps me on track as it’s synced to my phone and it allows me to add as many notifications as I want.

What are some things you do to stay positive throughout the day? Let me know in the comments.
